CompTIA A+ certification validates foundation level knowledge and skills necessary for a career in PC support. It is the starting point for a career in Information Technology. A+ is vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. Two exams are necessary to be certified: CompTIA A+, exam code 220-801; and exam code 220-802.
This ILT Series course provides comprehensive training for students who already have some existing knowledge of, and support experience with, networked desktop and notebook computers running any Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 operating system. This course will prepare students, at an accelerated pace, for the two exams that make up the A+ certification 2012 Edition: CompTIA A+ 220-801 and CompTIA A+ 220-801. Students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to install, build, maintain, and configure personal computers, laptop computers, mobile devices, and printers in a business setting. They will also learn the principles and best practices of SOHO networking, and of physical and data security.
The exam covers network technologies, installation and configuration, media and topologies, management, and security. Candidate job roles include network administrator, network technician, network installer, help desk technician and IT cable installer.
CompTIA Security+ is an international, vendor-neutral certification that demonstrates competency in Network security, Compliance and operational security, Threats and vulnerabilities, Application, data and host security,Access control and identity management, Cryptography. CompTIA Security+ not only ensures that candidates will apply knowledge of security concepts, tools, and procedures to react to security incidents, it ensures that security personnel are anticipating security risks and guarding against them.
